Description

Through this embroidered koala I want to raise money for Australia. They have been suffering from terrible bushfires for several months now. The burnt area is larger than the whole of the Netherlands, Belgium even fits in it twice over. Thousands of people have lost their homes, and many animals are found (partly) burned. There's even worries that entire species that were endangered already might go extict due to these fires.

Here in Europe I cannot physically do anything for these people and animals, but what I can do is create awareness and create something beautiful to raise money. When I came across this pattern I knew what that would be.
This pattern was designed by Ange from Fiddlesticks AU. If you want to make one yourself, you can buy the pattern here. The income from this pattern is also donated, so I knew this was a fitting pattern for what I wanted to do.

The koala is embroidered on white embroidery fabric (aida) and framed in a wooden embroidery ring that is 10 cm in diameter. The piece is completely finished off and ready to hang on the wall as is. It is a wonderful piece to hang in an office, living room or even a children's (bed)room.

The koala is made per order and because of that the time before shipping is an estimate. Assume a minimum of 1 to 4 weeks after ordering.

By buying this koala you support two charities. For each product sold, I donate € 7,50 to The Animal Rescue Collective, which is focused on rescuing, helping and feeding animals in and around the forest fires. On top of that € 7,50 goes to the Salvation Army Australia, which is aimed at supporting and taking care of the people in the areas in and around the forest fires.

If you want to donate directly to these charities, you can of course do that through the links above.
