Commissioned baby blanket 0
Commissioned baby blanket

A couple of months ago my lovely sister in law contacted me asking if I were willing to make a baby blanket for her friend. She referred to the blanket I made for my niece Isa last year. I felt so honoured that she thought of me to make this for her. After the business side of things talked through I decided to take this on.

This was the blanket that she referred to.

I told her she could pick any colours she wanted but that it would have to be of the yarn I picked. For this, I picked Scheepjes Colour Crafter. It's a super soft acrylic yarn that can go in the washing machine so perfect for a baby blanket. Because it's acrylic it's also hypoallergic and soft on the baby's skin.

She picked some gorgeous colours: cream, pink and light grey. And working up this blanket was just fantastic! After how nice the double thread of Colour Crafter was working up on my own temperature blanket I chose to do that for this blanket too. This way it would be softer and fluffier and work up nice and fast too.

I used the Pretty Ripple Blanket pattern from Daisy Cottage Designs. And for the edging I used the ripple blanket edging from Attic24.

All in all, I love the result!
